EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University head coach Denny Douds tied the Division II record with his 393rd game coached and redshirt senior quarterback Ray Wagner threw for 503 yards, becoming the first player with back-to-back 500-yard games in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference history, but C.W. Post left Eiler-Martin Stadium with a 34-30 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Douds, 230-160-3 in his 38th season at ESU, tied the division's mark held by Jim Malosky, who guided Minnesota-Duluth from 1958-1997. Douds will coach his record-setting 394th game next Saturday when the Warriors host Millersville at 3:05 p.m.

Wagner followed a 522-yard game at Kutztown last Saturday by throwing three long first-half touchdown passes – 73 and 75 yards to redshirt junior Jordan Hallman and 61 yards to redshirt sophomore Robert Bleiler – as the Warriors built a 23-7 lead.

C.W. Post erased the deficit by halftime when Joe Botti pulled in a 44-yard jump ball from Steven Laurino to give the Pioneers a 28-23 lead at intermission.

The Warriors pulled within 31-30 on a one-yard run by redshirt sophomore fullback Thomas Tippett with 2:13 left in the third quarter, but C.W. Post's fifth interception of Wagner with 5:43 remaining was enough to help the Pioneers salt away the victory with a rushing attack that gained 204 yards by game's end.

Hallman finished with five catches for 239 yards, second-most in school history, sophomore Dusty Reed had seven for 94 and Bleiler had four for 91. Reed was seventh in Division II in receiving entering the game.

Wagner, who was No. 1 in Division II in total offense (378.3 ypg) and No. 2 in passing (360.7 ypg) entering Saturday, was 24-for-40 with three touchdowns and five interceptions. He had 497 yards of total offense and was sacked for just the fourth time this season in 300 pass attempts.

Laurino was 23-for-31 for 332 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 107 yards on 28 carries for C.W. Post (4-3, 4-0), which remained unbeaten in PSAC East play. Jeff Mack ran for 102 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries and Botti had eight catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns.

C.W. Post outgained the Warriors (1-6, 0-4), 536-527, and held a 5-1 advantage in turnovers. ESU averaged 9.6 yards per play – 11.7 (363 on 31 plays) in the first half, as Wagner threw for 353 yards and three scores before halftime.

GAME NOTES
* Douds is the all-time leader in career wins in PSAC history with 230 victories.
* His 393 games coached are 90 more than the second-most in PSAC history.
* Douds ranks 4th among active college football coaches in career games, behind John Gagliardi (St. John's, DIII - 624), Joe Paterno (Penn State, DI-FBS, 546) and Bob Ford (Albany, DI-FCS, 428).

* Wagner continued his assault on the ESU and PSAC record books with his second straight 500-yard game. He is just the second QB in PSAC history with two 500-yard games in a career, joining former ESU signal caller Damian Poalucci in 1996.
* He is the 3rd ESU QB with consecutive 400-yard games, joining Poalucci (twice) in 1996 and Tim Roken in 2008.

* Wagner's 1,422 yards in the last three games are the most in school history - 85 more than Poalucci's best three-game streak in 1996. Wagner has thrown for 397 yards vs. Bloomsburg, 522 at Kutztown and 503 vs. C.W. Post.
* His 1,025 yards in the last two games are the 2nd-most behind Poalucci's 1,110 yards (494 vs. Cheyney, then-DII record 616 vs. Mansfield) in 1996.

* Wagner is 165-for-300 for 2,667 yards through the first 7 games - 381.0 per game. He has 100 rushing yards for 2,767 yards of total offense - 395.3 per game. He led DII in total offense and was 2nd in passing entering the week.
* He will lead Division II in passing by more than 20 yards per game when the national statistics are released on Monday.
* Wagner's 522 passing yards and 544 yards of total offense last week at Kutztown were the most in DII this season. He had the only 500-yard passing game in the nation among DII QB's.

* He is the 3rd ESU QB with three 50+ yard TD passes in a game, joining Jimmy Terwilliger (2005 at C.W. Post) and Poalucci (1996 vs. SCSU).
* Wagner has thrown for 200+ yards in a half in six of the Warriors' seven games - including five times in the first half. He has gone over 300 yards in the first half three times - 375 vs. Pace, 330 at Kutztown and 353 vs. C.W. Post.

* Hallman's 239 receiving yards are 2nd-most in school history behind Evan Prall's 254 yards vs. Lock Haven in 2006.
* Hallman is the 5th ESU receiver with two 50+ yard TDs in a game and the first since Tim Strenfel at Cheyney in 2005. Mike Mancuso had three such games during Poalucci's record-setting 1996 season.
* Three Warriors had 90+ receiving yards for the 3rd straight week. All three had 100+ yards last week - Bleiler (153), R-Jr. WR Wade Williams (140) and Reed (118).
* Reed had 7+ catches for the fifth straight week. He is the only receiver in Division II with 80+ yards in every game this season.
* He has four 100-yard games and games of 96, 94 and 86 yards. He has 1,118 career receiving yards - 35 from matching Evan Prall's total through his sophomore year. His 78 career receptions are six more than Prall's total.
* Reed (47-741), Hallman (22-561) and Bleiler (25-528) are all over 500 yards this season.
* Reed (7th) and Bleiler (27th) were one of two sets of teammates in the top 30 in Division II in receiving entering the weekend.
* Reed, Bleiler and Hallman rank 1-2-3 in the PSAC East and 3-4-5 in the PSAC in receiving after Saturday's game.

* ESU has lost six straight games in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1986-87. Last year, the Warriors won 65-14 at Millersville to get back in the win column.
* The Warriors entered Saturday with the 8th-toughest schedule in DII in opponents winning percentage.
* ESU lost when scoring 30+ points and putting up 500+ yards of total offense for the second straight week.
* The 16-point margin that C.W. Post overcame is the third-most by an opponent against the Warriors under Douds. CWP scored 21 points in the last 8:56 of the 2nd quarter, the final scoring drive set up by a 50-yard interception return one play after the Warriors took over at the 14-yard line after a botched punt return, leading 23-21.
* ESU leads the all-time series, 7-5, but has lost three straight. The Warriors are 1-3 since CWP joined the PSAC in 2008. This is the third time in the last six meetings both teams went over 30 points. ESU won the first two, 66-49 in 2005 and 48-42 in 2008.
