THE MATCH-UP: East Stroudsburg University heads to No. 23 Kutztown to renew their PSAC East rivalry. ESU had won nine straight games in the series until Kutztown's 38-31 victory last season.
Three of the last four meetings at Kutztown have been decided in the final minute:

Greg Knauss with 18 seconds left
2003 (W 34-33) - KU comes back from 13 down, failed 2-point conversion gives ESU PSAC East title
1 IF BY AIR, 2 IF BY LAND: ESU leads the PSAC and ranks 3rd in Division II in passing (344.6 ypg) and Kutztown is 2nd in the PSAC in rushing (213.0). The Warriors faced Bloomsburg's top-ranked rushing offense last week. Both schools feature standout quarterbacks. ESU R-Sr.

Monica came to KU after serving as defensive coordinator at Temple for eight seasons. He was at North Alabama for nine seasons prior to that, helping his alma mater to three straight NCAA Division II championships from 1993-95.
PLAYING THE BEST: ESU will face its third AFCA Top 25 opponent in four weeks and has led the first two - No. 21 California and No. 5 Bloomsburg - going into the 4th quarter. ESU led Cal, 19-14, before the Vulcans hit a 75-yard TD pass on 4th-and-10 with 3:12 left to avoid the upset. The Warriors led Bloomsburg, 20-19, last week but the Huskies pulled it out with two interceptions and TD drives.
IUP (2-2), California (4-1), West Chester (2-2), Bloomsburg (5-0) and Kutztown (4-1) have combined for a 17-7 record this season. The five schools were 40-19 last year - with Cal, Bloom and KU winning 10 games each - and 26-9 in PSAC divisional games.
ESU vs. THE TOP 25: The Warriors are 10-15 against AFCA Top 25 teams since 2000 and 1-8 in their last nine games. ESU's most recent win came vs. No. 25 Virginia Union (14-11) in the 2008 season opener.
