CONGRATULATIONS, COACH: ESU head coach
Denny Douds set the Division II record with his 394th game coached on Oct. 22, passing the total compiled by Jim Malosky of Minn.-Duluth from 1958-1997. Douds was recognized in a postgame ceremony and was introduced by offensive coordinator
Mike Terwilliger, the quarterback for Douds' first four years (1974-77) and an assistant coach for the last 34 seasons.
THE HEAD COACHES: Denny Douds (Slippery Rock '63), in his 38th season, holds the PSAC record for career wins with a 231-162-3 record. His Division II-record 396 games are 93 more than the second-most in PSAC history. Including 68 games as an assistant coach under Charlie Reese from 1966-73, he has coached in 464 of the 764 games - 60.7 percent - in program history. Douds is 2nd among active Division II coaches and 7th among all active coaches in career victories. He has led the Warriors to 9 PSAC titles and 4 NCAA Playoff appearances. There have been at least four head coaches at all 15 PSAC schools during Douds' tenure. For more, please see page 15 of the game notes.
Scott Browning (Ohio State '81) is in his sixth year as head coach at Edinboro and has a 45-22 record, including a 32-13 mark the last four years. He made his first appearance as head coach in the NCAA Playoffs in 2009 and was a part of Edinboro's seven previous playoff squads as an assistant coach for 20 seasons.
ESU vs. EDINBORO: ESU and Edinboro have met 16 times, including 10 times since 2000, with ESU holding a 6-4 mark in the most recent meetings. Three games have been played in postseason situations - ESU's 24-22 win in the 1982 PSAC championship game, ESU's 36-32 win in the first round of the 2004 NCAA Playoffs, and Edinboro's 31-16 win in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Playoffs.

Denny Douds last week at Shippensburg. He was 0-for-3 before leaving due to injury on the Warriors' 10th offensive play. Daniels was 5-for-16 for 66 yards and an interception in adverse conditions in the win at Cheyney and was 7-for-10 for 182 yards, a TD and an interception after replacing Wagner vs. Millersville. He saw his first action this season in the 4th quarter vs. Pace, going 5-for-7 for 81 yards and a TD.
Wagner (172) and Daniels (182) are the 2nd set of ESU QB's to throw for 150+ yards in the same game, both against Millersville. Starter Tim Roken (150) and backup
Matt Marshall (258) both did it at Millersville in 2008.
MORE DANIELS: A 2nd team All-State (AAAA) selection from Muhlenberg HS, Daniels was the only QB in Berks County history to have two 2,000-yard seasons and had 4,724 career passing yards and 43 TD. At ESU, he is a member of the school's ROTC program.

The Warriors are currently 3rd with 334.0 yards per game, throwing for 238 yards (119.0 per game) in the last two weeks - Daniels threw for 66 yards in the snow and mud at Cheyney, and Wagner threw for 172 yards in relief of Daniels at Shippensburg.
WARRIORS GET A W
ESU's much-needed win at Cheyney ended a 7-game losing streak, its longest since losing the last two games in 1997 and the first five in 1998. It was the longest streak in the same year since dropping 7 straight to open 1986.
The Warriors' previous 7 opponents have combined for a record of 43-19. Three of the seven losses came by 4 points or less, including 22-19 vs. No. 21 California on Sept. 17 - the second game of the streak.
ESU led three games, including the Cal game, going into the 4th quarter: 19-14 vs. Cal, led No. 5 Bloomsburg 20-19 in a 32-20 loss on Oct. 1, and led Millersville 24-17 in a 31-27 loss on Oct. 22. Cal threw a 75-yard, 4th-and-10 pass to go ahead with 3:12 left, and Millersville drove 50 yards and scored the winning TD with 17 seconds left.
The Warriors have battled through the same schedule they faced last year, when they went 3-8 with five losses by 7 points or less - tied for the most in school history. This year's strength of schedule is in the top 1/3rd in DII.
SHIP DEALS BIGGEST LOSS SINCE 2005
