12/14/2012 12:00:00 AM

EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University will be collecting toys to support the Dream Come True organization's upcoming holiday gathering during the Warriors' home basketball games on December 18 and 19 at Koehler Fieldhouse.

This marks the fifth year that ESU is partnering with Dream Come True. The gifts will be given to terminally ill children, ages four through 10, at their “North Pole Express” event at the Lehigh Valley Airport on Saturday, December 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Dream Come True is a non-profit organization, which fulfills the dreams and wishes of children who are seriously, chronically or terminally ill between the ages of 4-17 and living in the Greater Lehigh Valley area.

Individuals who donate gifts will be registered to win two free tickets from Allegiant Airline for a flight to a destination anywhere in the continental United States.

In addition, free admission will be offered to ESU's faculty, staff and their families.

Tip-off for Tuesday's doubleheader against Lock Haven and Wednesday's doubleheader against Clarion is set for 5:30 p.m. on both nights.

“I am happy our athletic department is invited to be part of this very important and special event that touches so many people,” said Dr. Tom Gioglio, ESU Director of Athletics. “I am extremely proud that our student-athletes and coaching staff continue to make community outreach one of their priorities. In 2011-12 the Warriors racked up over 3,000 community engagement service hours giving back to those less fortunate.”
