EAST STROUDSBURG – Aurielle Mosley scored 20 points and Mashira Newman had eight points, six assists and 11 steals as Millersville pulled away from East Stroudsburg University for a 69-55 win in PSAC East women's basketball on Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Sophomore forward Jessica Martin had 15 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks for her second straight double-double and freshman center Michelle Boggs had 11 points and nine rebounds, both career-highs, for ESU (5-11, 4-8). Junior guard Andrea Veres added 10 points for the Warriors.

Senada Mehmedovic scored 14 points, Miesha Cousins had nine points and 12 rebounds, Carly Gallagher produced 10 points and five assists and Mosley added seven rebounds for Millersville (11-5, 8-4), which remained one game behind PSAC East leader Bloomsburg.

The Warriors, looking for their second straight home win over the Marauders after upending them 65-58 last year, fell behind by as many as nine points early before scoring eight straight to close within 26-25 with five minutes left in the first half.

Veres hit a three-pointer, Boggs converted a three-point play and Martin scored on an assist from Boggs to get the Warriors within one while holding Millersville scoreless for a stretch of more than five minutes.

Mehmedovic ended the Marauders' drought with a three-pointer with 2:30 left and Gallagher hit another three a minute later before Martin closed the first-half scoring, ending an 8-0 run and pulling the Warriors within 34-27.

Martin scored the first bucket of the second half, but the five-point deficit was the closest the Warriors would get. Millersville scored the next six points, and while Martin's three-point play made it 42-36 with just under 15 minutes left, ESU was unable to draw any closer.

Martin followed a 15-point, 15-rebound game at Kutztown on Saturday with her fifth double-double of the season and ninth of her career. It is the second time she has strung together back-to-back double-doubles this season.

Boggs surpassed her previous career-bests of 10 points against California on January 5, and seven rebounds, which she had on two occasions this season.

Newman's 11 steals are tied for the fifth-most in PSAC history. Millersville led the PSAC in steals and blocks entering the game and had 18 steals and eight blocks on the evening.

ESU shot 18-for-22 at the foul line and held a 45-38 advantage on the glass. The Warriors shot 31.6 percent (18-for-57) from the field and committed 25 turnovers.

Millersville shot 39.1 percent (25-for-64) but made seven three-pointers and had 20 assists on its 25 field goals, along with 14 turnovers.

ESU, which has lost six of its last seven after stringing together three straight PSAC wins from December 8-19, hosts Shippensburg (11-6, 7-5) on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Lady Raiders are coming off a 75-55 win over West Chester on Wednesday.
