EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior Elizabeth Madden and sophomores Christina O'Connor and Danielle Smith own the top marks in their events  and five men have top-four marks for East Stroudsburg University going into the 2013 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be contested Saturday and Sunday at Edinboro.

Madden leads the conference in the weight throw (51-2 3/4), O'Connor shares the top mark in the high jump (5-8 1/2) and Smith shares the top time in the 60m dash (7.75) entering the weekend.

The men are led by sophomore Donovan Tolbert, who is second in the triple jump (48-0), and sophomore Travis Toth, who is second in the weight throw (57-6 1/4). Junior Keith Parker-Washington (200 - 22.19), sophomore Damien Boham (400 - 48.96) and senior Mike Saparito (800 - 1:53.60) are all fourth in their events.

Saparito is one of five Warriors who have won individual PSAC championships in their careers, capturing the indoor 800 title as a sophomore in 2011 before missing last year's PSAC meet due to injury. He also helped the Warriors to the 4x800 relay championship that season.

Smith was the PSAC champion in the 100 and 200 outdoors as a freshman last year. Senior Corinne Fitzgerald won last year's outdoor championship in the 3000m steeplechase, and senior Lauren Ventrella was the champion in the 60m hurdles as a freshman.

Senior Kyle Soden is the reigning champion in the indoor high jump. Three men have won relay championships, led by Parker-Washington, who has won a pair of 4x400 relay titles and the 4x100 outdoors last year. Sophomore Brandon Mercer also ran on the 4x100 relay and senior Amr Aldeen was on the 4x800 relay in 2011.

ESU athletes have combined for eight NCAA Division II provisional marks going into the weekend as well, led by O'Connor, who is tied for fourth in the high jump.

Smith ran a provisional time in the 60m dash last weekend as Susquehanna and junior Laura Beimfohr has a provisional mark in the pole vault. Men with provisional qualifiers are Parker-Washington in the 200, Boham in the 400, Saparito in the 800, Tolbert in the triple jump and Toth in the weight throw.

All six of the Warriors' relays rank in the top six in the conference and both Distance Medley Relays have NCAA provisional times. Junior Kim Wernerspach, Ventrella, sophomore Imani Rosario and senior Rose Mascoli ran 12:24.55 at Bucknell on January 26, and Saparito, Parker-Washington, Aldeen and senior Frank Fezza ran 10:13.53 at the Armory in New York City on February 1.

On the team side, the Warriors' women return all but two individual scorers from last year's teams that finished third indoors and second outdoors. They have been third indoors in two of the last three seasons (2010, 2012), and last year's runner-up outdoors was its best finish since 1982.

The men were fourth both indoors and outdoors last season - and have placed in the top four at six straight PSAC indoor meets. They were third from 2007 through 2009, second in 2010 and third again in 2011. Outdoors, they were the runner-up three straight years (2009-11) before finishing fourth a year ago.
