ESU Listed No. 4 in NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Men’s Basketball Rankings

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University is listed No. 4 in the initial set of NCAA Division II Atlantic Region men's basketball rankings which are used to set the field for the national tournament in March, it was released Wednesday.

The Warriors (20-3, 17-2 PSAC) enter the week with a record of 19-3 against Division II opponents, and 19-3 against in-region opponents.

They are 3-0 against schools that are currently listed in the top 10, with a home win over No. 5 IUP, neutral site win over No. 7 Alderson-Broaddus and road win over No. 8 Gannon.

ESU, which had a 14-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday at Shippensburg, plays at Millersville on Wednesday night and hosts West Chester on Saturday. The regular season concludes with a home game against Bloomsburg next Wednesday (Feb. 27).

ESU has played in the NCAA Division II Tournament in two of the last three seasons (2010, 2012). The top eight schools in each of the nation's eight regions will comprise the 64-team field, which will be announced on Sunday, March 10.

West Liberty, the two-time defending regional champion, is ranked No. 1 in this set of rankings, followed by Winston-Salem State, Fairmont State and ESU.

ESU is currently ranked No. 10 in this week's NABC Division II poll.
