EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University student-athletes Rabecca Lausch and Brendan McKeown have been named to their respective Capital One Academic All-America At-Large teams for the 2012-13 academic year, it was announced Wednesday.

Lausch (Carlisle/Carlisle), a senior on the women's tennis team, is a Biology major who had a 4.0 grade-point average through the end of the fall semester.

She was named to the second team and is one of seven female student-athletes from the PSAC named Academic All-America in the At-Large division, which includes all sports not covered by a distinct Academic All-America program (basketball, soccer, softball, cross country/track & field and volleyball).

McKeown (Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake), a redshirt junior and All-American on the wrestling team, is a Criminal Justice major who had a 3.50 grade-point average through the first semester. He is one of two PSAC male student-athletes selected to the team.

They are the fourth and fifth ESU student-athletes to earn Academic All-America honors this year, and the 30th and 31st in school history. Senior Eric Boyer (baseball), junior Rebecca Smith (softball) and junior Khriswayne Wallace (men's soccer) were recognized earlier this year.

ESU's five Academic All-Americans this year are tied for the most in school history with the Warriors' five selections last year. Academic All-America teams in men's and women's cross country/track & field will be announced in late June with seniors Corinne Fitzgerald, Rose Mascoli and Matt Tholis on the ballot.

Lausch was named to the All-PSAC East team in singles, posting a 12-7 overall record, 11-6 dual record and 9-4 record at No. 3 singles. She was 5-1 against divisional competition. In doubles, she had a 5-13 record, went 5-11 in duals and 5-9 at No. 1 doubles. She finished her career with a record of 24-35 in singles and 25-31 in doubles.

McKeown was the sixth-place finisher at 174 pounds in the NCAA Division II Championships, earning his first career All-America honor in his second trip as a national qualifier. He was the Super Region 1 champion and the region's Outstanding Wrestler at 174, upsetting defending DII 165-pound national champion and three-time regional champ Mike Williams of UNC Pembroke in the regional final.

He went 23-4 on the season, entering the NCAA's with a 20-1 record with his only loss coming by injury default. He won 17 straight matches from January 9 to March 8. In his first three seasons, he has a record of 59-32 overall and 26-12 in duals.

McKeown was previously named to the NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association) All-Academic first team earlier this spring.

Other PSAC selections to the At-Large team included five women on the first team in California's Clarissa Enslin and Kelsey Nuhfer (swimming), Slippery Rock's Janelle Krantz (tennis), Clarion's Kayla Shull (swimming) and West Chester's Nancy Stehman (field hockey). Stehman's teammate, Michele Schreft, joined Lausch on the second team.

On the men's team, IUP's Zack Kempa was named to the second team.

This marks the second year that the Academic All-America programs, selected and administered by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), are divided into four teams – Division I, Division II, Division III and College Division (NAIA, Canada and two-year schools). Teams were previously selected in the University Division (DI) and College Division (all others).

ESU had 11 Academic All-District selections this year, the precursor to the Academic All-America program. ESU ranks second among the 16 PSAC schools with 66 Academic All-District selections in the last six years.
