CHICAGO - The East Stroudsburg University football program will be featured on the Big Ten Network on Monday night (June 9) as the network profiles former ESU quarterback James Franklin '95, head coach at Penn State, including an interview with ESU head coach
Denny Douds.
The piece will run at 7:30 p.m. ET on "This Week In The Big Ten", and re-air at 10:30 p.m. on Monday night. It will also re-air several times across Big Ten Network platforms.
The Big Ten Network visited ESU on April 8 to sit down with Douds and spent the afternoon at ESU's spring practice to obtain footage for the program. Douds, entering his 41st season as ESU head coach this fall, holds the PSAC record with 244 career wins and the NCAA Division II record with 418 games coached.
Franklin was a standout quarterback at ESU, where he was a two-time All-PSAC East selection and was a regional candidate for the Harlon Hill Award as a senior in 1994. He set or tied 23 single-game, season or career records as a signal caller for the Warriors.
Franklin was named Penn State's head coach on January 11 after three seasons at Vanderbilt, where he led the Commodores to unprecedented success. VU had consecutive nine-win seasons, bowl victories and Top 25 finishes for the first time in program history.
Franklin was ESU's commencement speaker on May 10 and visited campus again on May 21 as part of Penn State's Coaches Caravan. He previously returned to ESU on March 18 to support ESU's men's basketball team in the NCAA DII Atlantic Region final.
The Big Ten Network is not available to Blue Ridge cable system subscribers. It is available on DirecTV (610) and the DISH Network (439). To find the Big Ten Network on your cable system, please visit
