EAST STROUDSBURG - Kiara Colston scored 19 points, all in the second half, and Kyah Proctor had 17 and seven assists as Bowie State posted a 65-55 win over East Stroudsburg University in non-conference women's basketball in the Warriors' season opener on Monday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Junior forward Allison Howard scored 18 points, 15 in the first half, for ESU, which led 35-26 at intermission in its first game under head coach Diane Decker.

Sophomore guard Imani Brown had 11 points and six rebounds and senior guard Melissa Poderis had 10 points, three assists and three steals for the Warriors. Junior forward Madison Tamburini added eight points off the bench, and senior center Michelle Boggs had three points, five rebounds and four blocked shots.

Colston and Proctor combined for 32 of 39 second-half points for Bowie State (1-1), which fell 74-62 to IUP in its season opener over the weekend. Alauna Jackson had 10 points and seven rebounds, Lisa Jing scored nine points and Ashley Jennings had four points and eight rebounds.

ESU led 47-43 through three quarters, but Bowie State had a 22-8 push in the final 10 minutes.

ESU hosts Shippensburg (2-0) in its PSAC East opener on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse.
