EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University, which earned the PSAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament on Sunday, will be the No. 6 seed in the Atlantic Regional and face No. 3 seed West Chester in the first round on Friday at No. 2 seed WV Wesleyan.

ESU (11-6-2) edged West Chester (14-3-1) on penalty kicks in the PSAC quarterfinals last Tuesday, and will meet the Golden Rams for the third time this season. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

The Warriors are in the NCAA DII Tournament for the second straight year and the fourth time in school history. They previously qualified in 1997, 2008 and 2014.

WV Wesleyan (17-0-3) will face the winner of the ESU-West Chester game in the second round on Sunday at 1 p.m.

On the other side of the Atlantic Region, No. 1 seed Gannon (18-2) hosts the winner of No. 4 Edinboro (14-7) and No. 5 Charleston (11-4-5).

The two regional finalists will play on Friday, November 20 at the top seed remaining in the East Region.

The Warriors won their second straight PSAC championship with a 2-1 (OT) win vs. Edinboro on Sunday on a goal by junior midfielder Shea Neal, who repeated as PSAC Tournament MVP. Neal and senior forward Sammi Jo Hughes lead ESU with eight goals each.

West Chester is in the NCAA Tournament for the 13th straight season, qualifying every year since 2003. The Golden Rams are the defending regional champion and have won the region six times since 2005 (2005-07, 2010, 2012, 2014).

ESU fell to West Chester, 1-0, at home on October 13 before securing a 0-0 tie through 110 minutes in the first round of the PSAC Tournament last Tuesday. The Warriors, the PSAC's No. 7 seed, prevailed 4-3 on penalty kicks with sophomore goalkeeper Jules Harris making two saves.

West Chester ranks 10th in DII in goals against average (0.44) with Alex Srolis 12th individually (0.447 gaa). WCU is in the top 50 in DII in goals per game (44th - 2.11).

WV Wesleyan, the No. 2 seed, is in the field for the ninth time overall and the seventh time in nine years (2007-10, 2012, 2014-15). They knocked ESU out of last year's tournament on penalty kicks in the second round after the Warriors were the region's No. 1 seed.

The Bobcats have allowed just two goals this season, leading DII in goals against average (0.09) with Hillary DeWitt playing every minute in goal. They posted a 1-0 win over Charleston in the Mountain East championship game.

Gannon is making its third NCAA appearance, also qualifying in 2009 and 2012.  Gannon was 17-0 before falling 4-2 at ESU on October 30, which put the Warriors in the PSAC Tournament. Edinboro knocked off the Golden Knights, 3-1, in the PSAC semifinals last Friday. Gannon averages 2.35 goals per game, 30th nationally, and is paced by the region's top scorer, PSAC Athlete of the Year Mani Brueckner (17 goals in 20 games).

Edinboro is in for the fourth time in five years (2011-13, 2015) after reaching the PSAC championship game last week with a 1-0 win vs. Kutztown and 3-1 win at Gannon, before falling to ESU in overtime.

Charleston is making its first-ever NCAA appearance. The MEC runner-up ranks 22nd in DII in goals allowed (0.609).

The PSAC has produced the last 10 regional champions - six by West Chester, two by California and one each by Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock.
