ESU Men’s Soccer Ranked No. 17 in NSCAA DII Poll, First National Ranking since 2010

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University is ranked No. 17 in the NSCAA Division II Men's Soccer poll, its first national ranking since 2010, it was announced Tuesday.

ESU (4-0, 2-0 PSAC) travels to Millersville for a 4 p.m. start on Tuesday in PSAC action.

The Warriors are ranked for the first time since they were slated No. 20 on October 5, 2010. ESU was a mainstay in the NSCAA DII poll each year since weekly records are available in 1996, earning a spot in the Top 25 for at least one week each season and gaining a national ranking for the entire year in 2002, 2003, 2007 and 2008.

ESU was ranked in the final NSCAA DII poll in 18 of 24 years from 1985 through 2008, including six times in the top 10, under head coach Jerry Sheska.

ESU's men's and women's soccer programs, both under head coach Rob Berkowitz, have been ranked during the 2015 season. The women were No. 11 in the NSCAA preseason poll and were ranked No. 14 in the final poll of 2014 following a 20-1-1 season and PSAC tournament and regular season titles.

Entering Tuesday afternoon at Millersville, ESU has a 15-3 goal differential with wins vs. Shepherd (3-0), at Shippensburg (2-1 OT), vs. St. Thomas Aquinas (4-0) and vs. Pitt-Johnstown (6-2).

Senior forward Casey Choffy is tied for fourth in DII in goals per game (1.50), with six goals including at least one in each contest. The Warriors are tied for fifth in DII as a team (3.75 per game).
