ESU Women’s Basketball Falls at West Chester, 84-67

WEST CHESTER - Dallas Ely had 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists and Brittany Sicinski added 15 points, eight boards and five assists, leading West Chester to an 84-67 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East women's basketball on Saturday at Hollinger Fieldhouse.

Freshman guard Noelle Powell scored a season-high 18 points (all in the second half), junior forward Allison Howard scored 17 points and sophomore guard Imani Brown had 14 for ESU (6-8, 4-6), which had won five straight games for the first time since early in the 2008-09 season.

Sophomore forward Rebecca Rutkowski had nine points, five rebounds and three blocked shots, and junior forward Madison Tamburini scored five points and had a career-high six assists for the Warriors.

Ely and Sicinski, both two-time first team All-PSAC East selections, helped West Chester (9-5, 6-4) to a 45-21 halftime lead.

Kendall Benovy had 12 points and eight rebounds and Anna Kuntz had 12 points and seven boards for the Golden Rams. Jasmen Clark added eight points and six assists.

Powell was 5-for-6 from the field, 4-for-5 from the three-point line and 4-for-4 at the foul line after halftime for ESU.

The Warriors host Mansfield (3-10, 1-9) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Mounties have dropped eight straight and fell 63-41 at Gannon in their most recent action on Wednesday.
