EAST STROUDSBURG – The top five spots remained unchanged in the most-recent NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional rankings released on Wednesday afternoon, with East Stroudsburg University staying in the No. 1 position for a third-straight week.
The Warriors (15-3) defeated Slippery Rock 3-0 on Saturday in their only contest last week, clinching the No. 1 seed for the PSAC Tournament. ESU, which is also No. 1 in the NFHCA DII poll, will host the semifinals and championship game this weekend, playing No. 4 seed Millersville in the second semifinal at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
The Marauders (15-4), ranked No. 3 in the region, defeated Bloomsburg 2-0 in the PSAC First Round on Tuesday. The PSAC championship game will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
No. 2 seed Shippensburg (16-2) plays No. 3 West Chester (13-6) in the first semifinal at 12 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders held on to the No. 2 spot in the region while the Golden Rams remained at No. 4.
Bloomsburg rounds out the regional rankings at No. 5. The top three teams in both the Atlantic and East regions will advance to the NCAA Division II tournament. LIU Post (13-3) moved ahead of St. Anselm (15-3) for the top spot in the East rankings.
The Warriors, who won their first NCAA Division II championship in 2015, are searching for the program's eighth NCAA tournament berth. This year's tournament teams will be announced by the NCAA at 3 p.m. next Monday.
