EAST STROUDBURG - Senior Tyson Searer (285), redshirt freshman Dylan Nace (141) and junior Tyler Richardson (184) lead East Stroudsburg University's national qualifier hopefuls as the NCAA Division II Super Region 1 Tournament is contested on Friday and Saturday at Mercyhurst University in Erie.

Searer is currently No. 7 in DII and No. 2 in the region in the most recent set of rankings, released February 10. Nace and Richardson are both ranked No. 4 in their weight classes.

The top four finishers at each weight will advance to the NCAA DII Championships on March 11-12 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Searer and Richardson are both returning national qualifiers, both at 197 pounds - Searer in 2013 and Richardson in 2015. Both will aim for a second NCAA trip at their current weight classes.

ESU has had 11 wrestlers combine for 14 NCAA qualifying spots in the last six years since reclassifying to DII prior to the 2009-10 season. ESU has had at least one national qualifier each season under head coach Joey Rivera - sending Richardson and Luke DeLuise (184) last year - and four Warriors have gone on to earn All-America honors, most recently Brendan McKeown (174) in 2013.

Searer is a three-time regional placewinner, finishing fourth at 197 in 2013 to earn his NCAA spot, sixth at 197 in 2014 and sixth at 285 last year. He can become ESU's first four-time regional placewinner in its seventh season in DII.

Searer enters with a record of 15-6, including a 10-1 in-region mark. He entered the national rankings after a second-period fall vs. then-ranked Andy Welton (Mercyhurst) on January 22. His only DII loss was a 6-1 setback to D.J. Sims (UPJ), currently No. 2 in DII, in late November.

Richardson finished in the top 12 in DII at 197 last year and reclassified to 184 midway through this season. He is 13-7 overall with a 6-6 mark in-region.

Nace is 19-2 overall with a 12-1 in-region record, winning 12 straight bouts since the PSAC Championships on December 5 where he dropped a 9-0 decision vs. Sam Hanau (UPJ), currently No. 2 in the region and No. 8 in DII.

He has two wins vs. regionally-ranked John Marotto (Gannon) on his ledger, including one of his 13 dual victories without a loss this season.

Six of ESU's 10 entrants, including Nace, will be making their regional debuts. Four Warriors - Searer, Richardson, sophomore Christian Silva (149) and junior Joey Kratochvil (157) - have previously been in the regional lineup. Silva competed at 141 last year and Kratochvil wrestled at 133 as a freshman in 2014.

The Warriors will send out redshirt freshman Collyn Dorney at 125 (12-12 overall, 4-9 in-region), junior Connor Maliff at 133 (4-6, 3-6 in-region), Nace at 141 (19-2, 12-1 in-region), Silva at 149 (0-5, 0-3 in-region), Kratochvil at 157 (10-10, 7-7 in-region), sophomore Vickson Krah at 165 (5-5, 1-0 in-region), freshman Josh Deutel at 174 (2-6, 2-6 in-region), Richardson at 184 (13-7, 6-6 in-region), junior Brandon Steele at 197 (5-13, 1-11 in-region) and Searer at 285 (15-6, 10-1 in-region).

ESU has three regional champions in six years in DII in McKeown (174 - 2013, Outstanding Wrestler), Ed Ebewo (197 - 2012) and Jeff Jacobs (174 - 2011).
