ESU Penn Relays history (since 1993)
EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University will send three individual athletes and six relay squads to the 122nd annual Penn Relays, which will be held Thursday through Saturday at historic Franklin Field at the University of Pennsylvania.
Graduate student
Travis Toth (hammer), senior
William Berry (high jump) and junior
Allison Decker (5000m) will compete individually for ESU.
Toth has the PSAC's leading mark and eighth-best mark on the NCAA Division II provisional list in the hammer (202-2), which he hit at last weekend's All-American Meet at ESU. Toth's mark is a PR and one foot off the ESU record.
Toth will compete at Franklin Field for the third time for the Warriors, placing fifth (of 29) at 179-5 in 2013, and sixth (of 26) at 187-2 in 2014. Toth redshirted last season.
Berry is third in the PSAC and t-18th in DII in the high jump (6-9 3/4), which he cleared two weeks ago at Bucknell. He will also make his third appearance at Franklin Field - placing second (of 15) in the Eastern high jump at 6-8 1/4 in 2014, and fourth (of 26) in the college high jump at 6-8 1/4 last spring.
Decker will compete in the 5K, where she is eighth in the PSAC (17:48.02) this spring. She has an NCAA DII provisional time in the 10K (36:18.18) which stands second in the PSAC and 28th in DII.
ESU's women's 4x200m, 4x400m and 4x800m relays will compete, along with the men's 4x2, 4x4 and shuttle hurdles.
The Warriors will compete in the men's shuttle hurdles for the third straight year, an event rarely contested, with freshman
Akeim Thomas (15.13 - 8th), senior
Adam Robertino (14.99 - 4th), sophomore
Christian Castro (7th - 15.06) and junior
Steven Morgan (14.35 - 1st) all holding top-eight times in the 110m hurdles in the PSAC this season. Prior to 2014, ESU's previous shuttle hurdles squad competed at Penn in 2005.
