EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University track and field athlete Travis Toth has been named to the PSAC Spring Top 10 for athletic and academic achievement, the conference announced Tuesday.

Toth (Newfoundland, Pa./Western Wayne), a graduate student in Exercise Science, set the PSAC record in the hammer and was named first team All-America with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships on May 26.

Toth repeats his spot from the PSAC Winter Top 10 following the indoor season.

The conference list honors five male and five female student-athletes among the conference's 18 institutions. The program requires at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average to be eligible for nomination. Each school may nominate two male and two female student-athletes each season.

Toth maintained a 3.88 grade-point average through his second semester of graduate work after earning his undergraduate degree with a 3.52 GPA.

He set the PSAC record in the hammer with a mark of 206-11, surpassing the previous record (205-3) set by Lock Haven's Mark Manno in 2012, and the ESU record (203-2) set by Paul Wagner in 2010.

He won the PSAC title with a mark of 202-5 on May 13 at Mansfield.

Toth finished his career as a three-time All-America, five-time national qualifier and four-time PSAC champion.

During the indoor season, he won the PSAC title in the weight throw and earned All-America second team honors with a 10th-place finish at the NCAA DII Championships.

Toth redshirted in 2015 following two PSAC titles in 2014, along with All-America status with an eighth-place finish in the hammer at the NCAA DII Championships.

He was also a national qualifier in the weight throw in 2014 and hammer in 2013.

ESU had five PSAC Top 10 selections this year, the most in the conference, with Toth gaining recognition in the winter and spring following three in the fall - junior Emily Howell (field hockey), redshirt senior Jon Schnaars (football) and redshirt sophomore Devon Ackerman (football).

The Warriors have had 34 student-athletes earn a total of 49 honors, fifth-most in the 18 school conference, since the PSAC's sports information directors began selecting the lists in 1997-98.

All 30 PSAC student-athletes (15 male, 15 female) selected during the academic year are eligible for consideration for the Pete Nevins Scholar-Athlete of the Year, which is presented to one male and one female in June.
