EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University's department of athletics and Blue Ridge TV-13 have expanded their partnership to carry nearly every Warriors men's and women's PSAC East basketball doubleheader at Koehler Fieldhouse during the 2016-17 season.

Blue Ridge, which completed its 30th season broadcasting ESU's home football schedule last fall, has carried a selected number of ESU basketball games each winter during its three-decade partnership with the Warriors.

The 2016-17 broadcast schedule opened with a pair of wins vs. Lock Haven on January 3, with the women posting a 76-59 victory and the men winning 115-78.

"The expansion of our three-decade partnership with Blue Ridge is a significant step in enhancing the brand reach of ESU athletics," said Josh Looney, ESU director of athletics. "With this agreement on the heels of our expanded radio partnership with ESPN Poconos, fans across our region have access to Warriors basketball like never before."

"In addition to the benefits of televising Warriors basketball throughout Northeast Pennsylvania, carrying the broadcasts on esuwarriors.com brings us closer to our online streaming goals and positions our athletic department for future growth. We are thankful for the tremendous loyalty and support Blue Ridge has provided the Warriors over the past 30 years."

"All of us at Blue Ridge Communications 13 (BRC13) are proud to continue our partnership with East Stroudsburg University and expand our coverage of ESU men's and women's basketball," said Kim Bell, general manager of BRC13.  "We are committed to providing quality local programming to the communities in northeastern Pennsylvania.  We are happy to celebrate 30 years of televising Warriors sports and we look forward to continuing our tradition of highlighting the excellent athletes and teams at ESU for another 30 years!"

Blue Ridge sports director Bob Capasso will continue to serve as the lead announcer for the broadcasts, partnering with longtime ESU television and radio commentator Bob Brittain and selected other local TV personalities.

Each Saturday doubleheader will air live on Blue Ridge TV-13. Midweek women's games (6 p.m.) will air on Blue Ridge digital 113, followed by the men's game (8 p.m.) on channel 13 and a replay of the women's game on channel 13 following the evening edition of the Pocono Report.
