EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior midfielder Chessie Rahmer and freshman goalkeeper Tatyana Petteway were named to the first team, and sophomore midfielder Emma Rufolo is on the second team as the IWLCA released its Division II All-Region women's lacrosse teams on Friday afternoon.

ESU (17-2) will make its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament on Friday, taking on Florida Tech (at Florida Southern) at 3 p.m.

The Warriors, who won their first-ever PSAC championship last Sunday with a 10-9 victory over Mercyhurst, also claimed their first PSAC regular season title and have won 12 straight games entering the postseason.

Rahmer and Petteway are the first ESU teammates named All-Region first team in the same season in program history.

All three were first team All-PSAC selections, with Rufolo earning PSAC Athlete of the Year honors and Petteway named PSAC Freshman of the Year, along with her spot on the first team.
They are ESU's first first-team selection since midfielder Molly O'Hara (2011), goalkeeper Julie Smith (2005) and midfielder Leah Quigley (2004).

Rahmer (Salfordville, Pa./Souderton), ESU's top scorer with 48 goals and 10 assists, is second on the team to Rufolo in caused turnovers (35), ground balls (55) and draw controls (52). She also leads the Warriors with 22 goals in their eight games vs. nationally-ranked opponents.

She has scored at least three goals in nine of ESU's 19 games, including five in a 16-10 win vs. then-No. 10 Mercyhurst on April 15. She was the PSAC Athlete of the Week for the final week of the regular season, with four goals and one assist in both games that week - 17-12 at West Chester, and 16-8 vs. IUP.

She scored two goals in both of ESU's PSAC Tournament games, and had six draw controls in the PSAC championship win vs. Mercyhurst.

Petteway leads DII in save percentage (.547) as a freshman and has had at least a .500 save percentage in 11 of her 16 starts. Her biggest game was 22 saves in the 16-10 win vs. Mercyhurst in the regular season. She also had 14 saves in a 10-7 win at Lock Haven.

She has held ESU's opponents to a 33-for-117 effort on free position shots entering the NCAA Tournament.

Rufolo, the PSAC Athlete of the Year, has 33 goals and 15 assists, along with team-highs in caused turnovers (41), ground balls (60) and draw controls (60).

She has scored in 17 of ESU's 19 games, including four goals in a 12-11 win at Seton Hill. She had a goal, two assists and a remarkable 11 draw controls in the 17-12 win at West Chester two weeks ago.

ESU, picked fifth in the PSAC preseason poll, had three All-Region selections last year - defender Caitlyn O'Connell (2nd team), goalkeeper Jessica Maxwell (2nd team) and attack Lauren Nunes (3rd team). Those three were ESU's first All-Region recipients since O'Hara and midfielder Michelle Mangiaruga in 2011.
