Coached ESU wrestling team for 17 years and served as athletic director for nine. He produced 24 All-American wrestlers. His teams won conference titles in 1968 and 1971 and finished seventh in the NCAA Division I nationals in 1966. He is a member of five other athletic and wrestling hall of fames.
