Three-time wrestling All-America. He placed third in the NCAA Wrestling Championship at 191 pounds in 1968 and at 177 pounds in 1967 and fourth at 177 in 1966. He was a three-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference champion. He had a career record of 77-7. He was chosen as the Senior Athlete of the Year in 1968.
