Men's Soccer Defeated by Bloomsburg on the Road

10/29/2025 9:31:00 PM

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — The East Stroudsburg men's soccer team lost a close game to Bloomsburg Wednesday evening, falling 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Huskies struck first in the 26th minute of the first half. Braden Alicea lobbed a pass from just inside midfield over the backline of the Warriors' defense, and Owen Hollobaugh corralled it in stride entering the box. After Hollobaugh drew Phil Sykes out of the ESU net, he crossed it over to Connor Fiadino who put it inside the left post for the game's first goal.
  • The Warriors were able to tie the game after the break, tallying the equalizer in the 53rd minute.
  • After Owen Rennie settled a long pass off a free kick in the attacking midfield, gaining possession and moving up into the attacking zone. Rennie passed it to Darryl Longdon, who dribbled right and shot left, beating the keeper to the upper left corner in the 53rd minute.
  • However, Bloomsburg had an immediate response in the 56th minute. Off a long throw-in from the attacking midfield, Sam Blumberger headed it across the top of the box to Quaid Molino. Molino then threaded a pass inside the box as Hollobaugh looped around and broke free, getting the angle on Sykes and putting Bloomsburg back in the lead.

GAME NOTES
  • The game was even in shots on goal with six apiece, but Bloomsburg had 14 shot attempts to ESU's 11.
  • The Huskies were called for three yellow cards while the Warriors were not booked.
  • The Warriors still hold the second seed in the PSAC East, but now are tied with Bloomsburg at 13 points each. East Stroudsburg has a 4-3-1 record while Bloomsburg has a 3-1-4 PSAC record.
