EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University redshirt freshman quarterback Matt Soltes, whose 666 yards of total offense on Saturday were the most by a freshman and the 10th-most all-time in college football history, has been recognized as the PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week in the Warriors' 45-37 win at LIU Post.

Soltes was 26-for-42 for 535 yards and five touchdowns, and ran for 131 yards on 12 carries, leading an ESU offense that set the PSAC record with 828 yards. The Warriors are the first team in PSAC history to gain more than 800 yards in a single game.

Soltes entered Saturday's game – his fifth career start – ranked first among Division II freshmen in completion percentage (62.0), second in pass efficiency (150.2), fourth in passing yards (205.3 ypg) and fifth in total offense (235.3 ypg).

He is now 129-for-208 for 1,972 yards, 14 TD and five interceptions for a pass efficiency rating of 159.0. He has run for 341 yards on 72 carries for 2,313 yards of total offense (289.1 yards per game).

In Soltes' five starts, he is averaging 337.4 yards passing and 394.8 yards of total offense. He is 114-for-175 for 1,687 yards, 13 TD and five interceptions, while running for 287 yards on 64 carries.

Soltes was previously the PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week for Warriors' 35-28 upset of West Chester on Oct. 6. He set ESU's single-game completion percentage record (81.1), going 30-for-37 for 366 yards and three TD, including the game-winning 33-yard TD pass to freshman Tim Wilson with five seconds left.

* 1st PSAC quarterback with 500 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in a game
* 2nd PSAC quarterback with 400 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in a game (Jeff Petrucci, California vs. Edinboro, 1968 – 406 passing, 111 rushing)
* 3rd ESU QB (5th game) with 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in a game (Jimmy Terwilliger three times – 2003, 2004, 2005; James Franklin once in 1994)
* 3rd-most rushing yards by an ESU quarterback since 1968 (11th 100-yard game)

* 6th-most passing yards in PSAC history and 3rd-most in ESU history
* broke ESU record for single-game total offense (597, Damian Poalucci at Mansfield, 1996)
