Dylan Tamecki and sophomore relief pitcher
Tyler Eckman were named to the All-PSAC East first team and sophomore outfielder
Ian Allen earned a spot on the second team for East Stroudsburg University, which competes in the PSAC Tournament this week.
Tamecki (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern), eighth in the PSAC with 48 RBI, leads an ESU offense that ranks among the PSAC leaders in runs per game (7.18).
Eckman (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford), who leads the PSAC with nine saves, is the first-ever ESU pitcher to be named to the first team as a relief pitcher.
Allen (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) has had a standout season for the Warriors both at the plate - hitting .353 with 38 RBI, 44 runs and 23 stolen bases (2nd in the PSAC) - and on the mound, going 5-2 with a 4.20 ERA in nine starts.
Tamecki, Eckman and Allen helped ESU reach the PSAC Tournament for the fourth time in the last six years.
The Warriors (28-17), who finished fourth in the PSAC East, face Mercyhurst (32-6) in the first round of the PSAC Tournament on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in Butler, Pa.
Tamecki, a transfer from Northampton CC, has had an exceptional first season at ESU. He is hitting .395 (60-for-152) with a .444 on-base percentage and .612 slugging percentage, 15 doubles, six home runs, 48 RBI and 36 runs while drawing 15 walks.
He led the Warriors in almost every offensive category in the 28-game PSAC East schedule - batting .382/.441/.652 with six doubles, all six of his home runs, 30 RBI and 20 runs. He was a two-time PSAC East Athlete of the Week, both coming during divisional play.
He ranks second on the Warriors in multi-hit games (16), tied for first in multi-RBI games (10) and had a 10-game hitting streak from March 8-22.
Eckman leads the Warriors in ERA (2.97), pitching in 18 games and making one start. He set ESU's single-season record with nine saves, breaking a mark of seven set by Rich Wescoe in 1974.
Eckman has worked 30.1 innings, including 25.1 in 17 appearances out of the bullpen. He has 30 strikeouts, just 12 walks and 36 hits allowed while posting a 1-1 record.
He made his only start of the season in a critical game for the Warriors last weekend, throwing the first 5.0 innings and allowing two runs in a 5-3 win over Bloomsburg that put the Warriors into the PSAC Tournament in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
Allen has thrived as a two-way player for the Warriors as a sophomore and was selected as a second team outfielder by the PSAC East's coaches.
He is hitting .353 with a .467 on-base percentage and .559 slugging percentage, going 48-for-136 at the plate while showing a keen eye with 28 walks, along with three HBP. He has six doubles, two triples, six home runs, 38 RBI and 44 runs scored, along with a 23-for-25 success rate on stolen bases.
On the mound, Allen has made nine starts, going 5-2 with a 4.20 ERA in 49.1 innings. He has 56 strikeouts and just 16 walks, recording double-figure strikeouts in three games. He threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts at Virginia State on March 8 and won PSAC East starts against Shippensburg and Bloomsburg.
In divisional play at the plate, Allen batted .349 with a .436 on-base percentage, .523 slugging percentage, eight extra-base hits, 17 RBI and 25 runs while going 15-for-17 on stolen bases.
