EDINBORO - Graduate student Travis Toth won his third career PSAC championship, capturing the weight throw, and East Stroudsburg University's women's 4x800m relay team set the school, meet and facility records to lead the Warriors on the first day of the 2016 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Edinboro.

Toth won the weight throw with a mark of 60-7 1/4, capturing his second PSAC title in the weight throw and third overall. He won the weight indoors and hammer outdoors in 2014, his most recent season of competition, before redshirting last season. Toth ranks 11th on the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying list (62-11 1/4).

The women's 4x800m relay of freshman Victoria Matthews, sophomore Samantha Young, junior Lauren Toth and sophomore Kaylyn West ran 9:23.48 for ESU's second PSAC championship in the 4x8 relay in three years.

The quartet broke the school record of 9:25.19 set by the PSAC champion group of Meghan Ragard, Imani Rosario, Toth and Kim Wernerspach in 2014.

The previous PSAC meet record was held by Lock Haven (9:23.64) in 2009, and the Zafirovski Dome record at Edinboro was held by Kutztown (9:24.33) in 2013.

In other finals on Saturday, junior Allison Decker was fourth in the 5000m in 17:14.85, an NCAA DII provisional qualifier and the second-fastest time in school history. Decker is now a four-time PSAC scorer, finishing third in the 3000m indoors last year, and fifth in the 5000m and sixth in the 10,000m outdoors.

ESU's women's Distance Medley Relay of Young, senior Chelsea Conover, freshman Brianna Thomas and sophomore Danielle Swingle was fifth in 12:42.61.

On the men's side, junior Sean Hagerty was fifth in the long jump at 22-0 3/4 for his first PSAC scoring effort.

The men's 4x800m relay of freshman Jared Glosser, sophomore Zack Krieger, sophomore Sean Halligan and freshman Khai Samuels was second in 7:57.19.

Senior Eric Conard, the decathlon champion outdoors last spring, is 11th in the heptathlon through four of seven events.

Women's Prelims

Freshman Marissa Flim (7.84) and senior Tirzah Johnson (7.87) were seventh and eighth in the 60m dash to advance to Sunday's finals. Both times rank in the top 10 in school history.

Three women ran ESU top-10 times in the 60m hurdles but did not produce a finalist. Sophomore Jaid Harsch ran 9.20 (#3 at ESU), junior Brandie Tartza ran 9.29 (#4) and junior Kelley Anne Stuetz ran 9.39 (#7).

Men's Prelims

ESU's 60m hurdles crew put three into the finals in junior Steven Morgan (8.21), freshman Akeim Thomas (8.29) and senior Adam Robertino (8.44).

Morgan ran the top time in the prelims and Thomas second. They entered as the top two seeds, with Thomas at 8.13 and Morgan at 8.14. Morgan has won the last three PSAC hurdles championships - the 110m outdoors in 2014, and the 60m indoors and 110m outdoors in 2015.

Senior Derrick Washington is the No. 1 seed for Sunday's final in the 400m after running 49.38 in the prelims. Washington, 11th on the seeded list entering the weekend, is the defending PSAC outdoor 400m champion.
