EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University's baseball program will host its annual Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Day on Sunday, April 10 as the Warriors host Shippensburg in a PSAC East doubleheader at 1 p.m. at Mitterling Field.
ESU's baseball program is in its seventh year raising money and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which entered a new phase in 2014 as
Brayden Walsh from Tannersville joined the Warriors through Team IMPACT.
The Warriors' players will wear a purple wristband, the designated color in support of cystic fibrosis, during Sunday's games.
Support for Brayden's Mission, which will donate its funds for cystic fibrosis research, can be offered through

Cystic fibrosis is an incurable, life-threatening genetic disorder that affects more than 30,000 Americans and is prevalent in children. The disease causes mucus to build up and clog an individual's organs, particularly the lungs and pancreas. Build-up makes breathing very difficult and causes bacteria to get stuck in the airways, causing inflammation and infections that lead to lung damage.
Team IMPACT partners children facing adverse medical conditions with team-based organizations. The organization has partnered more than 900 children with more than 400 schools in 45 states.
The Warriors will also welcome their alumni back to campus with a barbecue and reception tent beyond the centerfield fence.
