Ian Allen and sophomore DH
Christian Rishel both had four hits and East Stroudsburg University set a school record for runs in a postseason game with a 19-2 win vs. Chowan in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional on Friday at Owls Field.
ESU (37-17), the No. 6 seed, remains alive in the tournament, extends its school record for wins and plays Seton Hill in an elimination game on Saturday at 11 a.m. Seton Hill, the No. 5 seed, fell 6-1 to No. 1 Millersville on Friday afternoon. (

Chowan (26-26), the CIAA champion, finishes its season. The Hawks fell 12-6 to No. 2 seed West Chester in its tournament opener on Thursday.
ESU head coach
John Kochmansky tied the school record for wins by a coach (260), improving to 260-181-1 in nine years. He has guided the Warriors to the NCAA Tournament in three of the last six seasons (2011, 2013, 2016).
ESU scored seven runs in the first inning, two in the second and four in the fourth and scored in six of its nine innings on offense.
Redshirt senior
Cody Klinger threw 6.0 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks to improve to 6-3 on the season.
The Warriors had 21 hits, including a season-high 11 extra-base hits on eight doubles and three triples.
Allen was 4-for-6 with a double, triple, two RBI, two runs and a walk in the No. 2 spot and Rishel was 4-for-6 with a double, triple, three RBI and two runs in the No. 8 spot for the Warriors.
Redshirt senior 1B
Matt Walewski was 3-for-6 with two doubles, a triple, three RBI and three runs in the No. 6 spot.
Eleven Warriors had at least one hit, including five with multi-hit games, and seven had an extra-base hits, led by three by Walewski.
ESU had five hits, drew two walks and benefited from a pair of Chowan errors in the first inning to lead 7-0 before the Hawks sent a batter to the plate.

Jay Young (1-for-5, 2 RBI, run) reached on a leadoff error and scored on an RBI single by Allen. Redshirt junior OF
Robert Bennie reached on a fielders choice, moved to second on a throwing error and stole third, followed by a walk and stolen base by redshirt senior 3B

Steven Zimmerman, Jr. walked, Rishel had a two-RBI triple and redshirt junior OF
Casey Saverio picked up an RBI single as ESU sent 11 batters to the plate in the frame.
Bennie, hitting No. 3, finished 1-for-5 with a double, three runs and four stolen bases. Hercik was 0-for-2 with two walks and two runs in the cleanup spot, and Crookham was 1-for-3 with a double, three RBI and two runs hitting No. 5.
Zimmerman was 1-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and two runs hitting No. 7 and Saverio was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs in the No. 9 spot.
ESU added two runs in the second as Bennie walked and stole second, Hercik was hit by a pitch and a double steal put runners on second and third. Crookham lifted a sacrifice fly and Walewski had an RBI groundout to make it 9-1.
In the fourth, Walewski had a leadoff double and scored on an RBI single by Rishel, Saverio doubled, Young had an RBI groundout and Allen had an RBI triple and scored on a wild pitch.
Young added an RBI double in the sixth, Walewski had an RBI triple and Zimmerman and senior 2B
Nick Rabasco had RBI singles in the seventh and junior SS
Billy Sablinski and freshman catcher
Cameron Kichline had pinch-hit RBI singles in the eighth.

Derrick Jackson and Rishel each threw a scoreless inning of relief for the Warriors.
ESU limited Chowan to five hits as the Hawks picked up one run in the first and another in the sixth.

* Hercik set ESU's record for career runs (161), surpassing the record of 159 set by Brett Reynolds (1998-01).
* Bennie tied ESU's record for doubles in a season (21), equaling the mark set by
Mark Angelo and Chris Zsenak (both in 2009).
* Bennie has 33 extra-base hits this season, one from the school record of 34 held by Angelo and Kevin Thompson (both in 2009).
