EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University redshirt senior shortstop Conner Crookham has been named to the NCBWA Division II preseason All-America first team for the 2017 season, it was released Wednesday.

Redshirt senior first baseman Dylan Tamecki was named to the honorable mention team.

ESU had four preseason All-Atlantic Region selections, announced last Friday, with Crookham, Tamecki and redshirt senior second baseman Jay Young on the first team, and senior pitcher/outfielder Ian Allen on the second team at the utility position.

Crookham (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) enters his third year at ESU and was named  to the ABCA and NCBWA All-Region second team and All-PSAC East first team at shortstop in 2016. He hit .357 with a .448 on-base percentage and .669 slugging percentage, 27 extra-base hits including 10 home runs, 54 RBI and 46 runs. He ranked sixth in the PSAC in slugging percentage, tied for 8th in RBI and tied for 9th in home runs.

He has a career line of .384/.457/.700 with 40 extra-base hits, including 16 home runs, 77 RBI and 72 runs in 74 games. He hit .438/.477/.763 in 24 games in an injury-shortened season in 2015.

Tamecki (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) missed all but eight games in 2016 after being named to the NCBWA preseason All-Region second team last spring. In 2015, his first year at ESU, he hit .407 with a .462 on-base percentage and .622 slugging percentage, 16 doubles, seven home runs, 54 RBI and 45 runs in 50 games. He was named All-PSAC East first team and ABCA All-Region second team.

The Warriors were 38-18 last year to set a school record for wins and are listed No. 5 in the preseason Atlantic Region poll. ESU reached the NCAA Division II Tournament for the third time in six seasons, and the PSAC Tournament for the fifth time in seven years, under 10th-year head coach John Kochmansky.

Last spring, ESU led DII in on-base percentage (.445), ranked 5th in batting average (.347), 10th in slugging percentage (.524) and 14th in runs per game (8.6) among 254 DII schools.

Crookham is one of six Atlantic Region players named to the first, second or third team preseason All-America team. He is joined on the first team by Millersville catcher Mitch Stoltzfus and Seton Hill starting pitcher Perry DellaValle. Bloomsburg outfielder Austin Edgette and Millersville outfielder Chas McCormick are on the second team, with Shepherd outfielder J.J. Sarty on the third team.
