EMPORIA, KS - East Stroudsburg University senior Dan Gale finished 13th in the javelin at the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships, Saturday at Welch Stadium at Emporia State University.

Gale's best throw was 198 feet and allowed him to finish in the top 13 in the country for the second time. In 2004, Gale finished seventh.

Andrew Vogelsberg of the host school won the event with a throw of 245-03. There were four throwers from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in the top 16. Jeremy Confer from Mansfield was fifth (215-10) with Rob Conrad (eighth, 208-9) and Mike Rairigh (11th, 203-01) from IUP also in the top 11.
