CALIFORNIA - East Stroudsburg University dropped all three matches against PSAC West foes Slippery Rock, IUP and California at the PSAC Crossover held at Cal on Friday and Saturday.
The Warriors were competitive in the first two games vs. The Rock, falling 30-24 and 30-26 before dropping the third game 30-12. Against IUP, ESU pushed the first two games to 30-27 and lost 30-20 in the third. Cal won its 25th straight match to set a school record with a 30-18, 30-16, 30-18 win over the Warriors.
Freshman Kayla Mahaffay had at least six kills in all three matches and had 21 kills for the weekend for ESU. Freshman Amy Casteel was the setter in all nine games and had 71 assists, while junior Caitlin Kuhn had 15 kills and seven blocks. Kuhn has 86 blocks this season, fifth all-time at ESU.
ESU will travel to Philadelphia for a pair of matches on Tuesday, taking on Cheyney at 4 p.m. and Philadelphia University at 7 p.m.
