EAST STROUDSBURG - Kutztown, the No. 2 seed in the PSAC East, recovered from a 2-1 deficit to beat East Stroudsburg University in five games on Thursday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.
The Warriors won the second game 30-21 and the third 30-18 after Kutztown took the first game 30-27. The Golden Bears forced the fifth game with a 30-23 score in game four, and won the deciding game 15-8.
Senior setter Liz Johnson guided an efficient attack on Senior Night, compiling 52 assists in the five-game match. Freshman Alyson Stark had a career-high 20 kills, and classmate Kayla Mahaffay added 17 kills for the Warriors.
Junior libero Kim Dormer had 33 digs, and junior middle blocker Caitlin Kuhn had 6.5 blocks (three solo, seven assists) for the ESU defense.
ESU will close the 2007 season on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at Lafayette.
