BLOOMSBURG - Phylicia Holmes hit a jumper with three seconds left to break a 76-76 tie and give Caldwell College a 78-76 win over East Stroudsburg University in the second day of the Huskies Tip-Off Classic at Bloomsburg.
The Warriors fall to 0-2 on the season with the losses coming by a total of five points following a 73-70 loss to USP on Friday night.
ESU led by as many as 16 points after a 9-0 run early in the second half, but Caldwell narrowed the deficit to 68-64 with five minutes left. The lead changed hands four times in the last 2:11, and Holmes hit the game-winner after senior forward Monika Fogelsanger tied the game with 48 seconds left.
Fogelsanger scored 22 points on 7-of-8 shooting and was 7-for-7 from the line for ESU. Junior guard Jackie Yandrisevits had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and sophomore guard DeAnna Rayam scored 15 points and was 3-for-5 from three-point range.
Kristy Leedham led Caldwell with 19 points and Mackenzie Lynch contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Warriors will host Philadelphia University on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. in their home opener at Koehler Fieldhouse.
