EAST STROUDSBURG - Kelsey Conklin scored 24 points and Samantha Reimer added 18 points and six assists to lead Edinboro past East Stroudsburg University, 70-62, in PSAC crossover women's basketball on Tuesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Senior forward Monika Fogelsanger led ESU with 17 points and junior guard Jackie Yandrisevits had 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals and set a career-high with four blocked shots.
Edinboro opened up a 12-point lead with a 9-0 run midway through the second half to take control of the game, and stretched its advantage to 14 points after back-to-back buckets by Reimer and Conklin with five minutes left.
The Warriors battled back behind a three-pointer by sophomore guard DeAnna Rayam and six points from Yandrisevits to pull within 65-60 on a jumper by freshman guard Kristen Murray with 1:05 remaining.
Reimer split a pair of free throws and Murray made a layup to make the score 66-62 with 44 seconds remaining, but Conklin answered with a basket at the other end. Reimer sealed the victory with two free throws to help Edinboro improve to 4-3 on the season.
ESU will host Slippery Rock on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in its last action until Saturday, Jan. 5 when the Warriors take on Clarion at Koehler Fieldhouse.
