PHILADELPHIA - Junior forward Jackie Domzalski scored two first-half goals and April Sutton added a third to lead the East Stroudsburg University field hockey team to its first win of the season, 3-1 over Philadelphia University on Thursday afternoon.
Domzalski scored 5:18 into the game to give ESU a 1-0 lead off an assist from senior co-captain Karleigh Bowen. Domzalski also opened the scoring 6:03 into ESU's season opener against Stonehill on Saturday.
Co-captain Sarah Cordora, who led NCAA Division II with 14 assists in 2006, assisted on the Warriors' second and third goals to give her three for the season. Sutton netted her first goal of the year with 12:40 left in the first half, and Domzalski scored again five minutes later to give ESU a 3-0 advantage.
Danielle Coffaro put Philadelphia on the board with 11:30 left. Carolyn Kisling made three saves in 58:30 in goal for ESU, while Megan Cappuccino relieved Kisling after the goal and made two saves.
Jessica Snyder made 12 saves in goal for Philadelphia. ESU held a 26-9 advantage in shots and a 16-5 edge in penalty corners.
ESU will return to Whitenight Field on Saturday for a 1 p.m. start against Merrimack.
