Box Score

EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior forward Sarah Cordora assisted on the first goal and scored what proved to be the game-winner three minutes later as East Stroudsburg University beat Merrimack 2-1 in non-conference field hockey on Saturday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

April Sutton put ESU on the board with just under 10 minutes left in the first half on Cordora's fourth assist of the season, and Cordora scored her first goal of the year with 5:40 remaining before the break.

The Warriors defense did the rest, limiting Merrimack to two shots for the game. Merrimack cut the lead to 2-1 with 2:15 left in the game on a goal by Kelly Pasquantonio, but ESU did enough to salt away the victory.

ESU will open its PSAC schedule on Wednesday at 4 p.m. against IUP.
