EAST STROUDSBURG - Ray Schreiner scored the game-winning goal 2:43 into the second overtime period to lift IUP to a 2-1 win over East Stroudsburg University in non-conference women's soccer on Saturday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

IUP, picked to win the PSAC West, went ahead 1-0 just over 11 minutes into the game on a goal by Melissa Kornock, but ESU held the Crimson Hawks scoreless for the remainder of regulation.

Junior midfielder Janel Cleffi tied the game at 1-1 for ESU in the 64th minute off an assist from Dena Shleifer. Sophomore goalkeeper Michelle Ginn, making her first start of the season, made an impressive save with 20 minutes to go to turn away the Crimson Hawks and maintain the 1-1 score.

After a scoreless 10 minute period to open overtime, Schreiner found space behind the ESU defense and drove the ball into the lower right corner of the net to give IUP the victory.

Ginn made five saves in goal for ESU, while Kelsey Dowling had one save and earned the win for IUP.

ESU will return to PSAC East action on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. vs. Kutztown. The Warriors are 1-2 overall but 1-0 in the PSAC East after a 2-1 win over Bloomsburg on Wednesday.
