EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior Tara Takac and freshman Kailyn Buckley scored two goals each to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 6-0 win over Clarion on Friday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
Takac scored the first goal of both halves for ESU, which improved to 4-3 on the season. She scored 3:30 into the match off a long pass from Caitlyn Curran, and found the net again seven minutes into the second half.
Junior midfielder Janel Cleffi gave ESU a 2-0 lead in the 25th minute, and Buckley scored the first of her two goals 10 minutes later. Jennifer Buckley and Lynda Hicks were credited with the assists.
Hicks scored her third goal of the year with 20 minutes remaining in the match, and Buckley finished the scoring with 17:31 left.
Junior Janine Turcio played the first 84 minutes in goal before giving way to senior Samantha Marina. Jessica Reed started for Clarion and allowed all six goals before being replaced by Jenna Kulik with 12 minutes left. Reed made nine saves as ESU held a 29-3 advantage in shots in the contest.
The Warriors (4-3, 3-1 PSAC East) will return to conference action on Monday with a 4:30 p.m. game at West Chester.
