No. 3 IUP Stifles ESU Field Hockey

INDIANA - No. 3-ranked IUP scored two early goals to begin the game and held on for a 2-0 victory on Saturday afternoon over visiting East Stroudsburg University.

Sophomore Brittany Owens assisted on both goals for the Crimson Hawks that came less than three minutes apart. Junior Sylvia Guerrieri opened the scoring up 5:53 into the game, while senior Liz Martini followed that up with her team leading 11th goal of the year at the 8:20 mark. Lydia Dolly picked up the victory in goal for IUP.

IUP held an 11-1 advantage in shots and 7-2 edge in penalty corners. Carolyn Kisling recorded two saves and Domineque Scott recorded the lone shot for the Warriors

The Warriors fall to 4-7 overall and 2-6 in the PSAC heading into tomorrow's non-conference match-up with Mercyhurst. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
