Women's Volleyball Goes 1-2 in Eckerd College Tournament

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The East Stroudsburg University women's volleyball team went 1-2 in its second tournament of the season last weekend at Eckerd College.

The Warriors (2-4) fell in three games to Palm Beach Atlantic and Eckerd, and won in four games against Puerto Rico-Bayamon.

Freshmen Kayla Mahaffay and Alyson Stark both had 13 kills for ESU against Puerto Rico-Bayamon, with Mahaffay recording just two errors in 32 attacks for a .344 hitting percentage.

Junior Caitlin Kuhn, a returning All-PSAC East selection, had eight kills and 3.5 blocks at the net, and freshman Lindsey Lullo was one of three players in double figures with 24 digs. ESU also had 17 aces, including seven from freshman Chandell Pet.

Mahaffay (10 kills) and Stark (9 kills) were also the leading hitters against Palm Beach Atlantic, and junior Kim Dormer added 16 digs.

ESU will play in its third straight tournament this weekend at the University of Charleston (W.V.).
