EAST STROUDSBURG - Freshman Jess Frantz scored all three IUP goals to lead the Crimson Hawks past East Stroudsburg University 3-0 in the PSAC opener for both teams on Wednesday afternoon at Whitenight Field.
IUP, ranked No. 4 in this week's NFHCA Coaches Poll, improves to 4-1 and 1-0 in the PSAC, while No. 8 ESU falls to 2-2 overall.
Frantz gave IUP a 1-0 lead with 5:25 left in the first half, and then scored 10 minutes into the second half. Her third goal came with 13:28 remaining and completed the hat trick.
ESU junior Carolyn Kisling made 10 saves in goal, while her counterpart, Lydia Dolly, had five saves. IUP held a 21-14 advantage in shots for the game.
The Warriors will look to even their PSAC record at 1-1 when they take on Shippensburg on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Whitenight Field.
