Warriors Women's Soccer Falls 2-0 at Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG - Shippensburg remained undefeated in the PSAC East women's soccer standings with a 2-0 win over East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon.

ESU goalkeeper Janine Turcio left the game due to injury 17 minutes in, and Gayle Kuntzman scored for Shippensburg six minutes later to take a 1-0 lead. The Raiders added a goal by Amanda Greenwalt in the last two minutes of the half to go ahead 2-0.

The Warriors outshot Shippensburg 17-10 for the game and got off 11 shots in the second half, but were unable to slip anything past goalkeeper Beth Long, who made seven saves in the shutout.

Michelle Ginn played the last 72:58 in goal for ESU and made three saves.

The loss drops the Warriors to 2-1 in the PSAC East and 2-3 overall. They will return to action on Friday at 4:30 p.m. with a non-conference match-up against Clarion at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
