THE MATCH-UP: East Stroudsburg University hosts Moravian College in a match-up of two of the area's top women's basketball programs. ESU enters with a 4-7 record, while Division III Moravian is 8-3 and brings a seven-game winning streak into Koehler Fieldhouse.
HITTING 1,000: Jr. G Jackie Yandrisevits comes into tonight's game with 976 career points and is looking to become the 12th 1,000-point scorer in ESU history, and just the fifth to hit the mark during her junior year. Yandrisevits is averaging 20.4 ppg over the last five games, and has averaged 14.4 ppg in 68 games in her career.
LAST TIME OUT: ESU pushed No. 9-ranked IUP before falling 79-70 in PSAC crossover action on Sunday. The Warriors led 42-40 at halftime and trailed by two with 3:01 to play before IUP pulled away. Yandrisevits led ESU with 19 points and So. G DeAnna Rayam had 14 points and a career-high eight rebounds.
MURRAY HONORED: Fr. G Kristen Murray was named the PSAC East Rookie of the Week for the third time this season on Monday. She averaged 7.0 points and 5.5 rebounds over two games, and was also honored twice in December following a five-game stretch when she averaged 14.6 ppg and was named MVP of ESU's home tournament.
PSAC LEADERS: Yandrisevits is in the top 15 in the PSAC in five categories: scoring (7th, 15.2), rebounding (13th, 6.7), field goal % (4th, 54.9), free throw % (11th, 77.8) and blocked shots (15th, 0.7). Sr. F Monika Fogelsanger ranks third in free throw shooting at 84.6 percent and is 10th with a field goal percentage of 51.5%. Rayam is 14-of-35 from the 3-point line (40%), good for eighth in the conference.
