EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior guard Jackie Yandrisevits scored a career-high 35 points and went over the 1,000-point mark for her career and helped the Warriors overcome a 19-point second half deficit in a 96-89 overtime victory against Moravian on Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Yandrisevits entered the game needing 24 points to become the 12th player in school history to score 1,000 career points and had 14 in the first half, but Moravian (8-4) held a 46-31 halftime advantage.

Moravian led 54-35 with 17:50 left in the game before ESU (5-7) started to come back, narrowing the margin to 10 in the next four minutes, but a pair of three-point plays quickly bumped the lead back to 16.

Yandrisevits scored her 1,000th point on a jumper off a pass from junior guard Keri Cahill with 9:41 remaining to make the score 64-53. The basket was the start of a 12-2 run for ESU, as Yandrisevits hit a three-pointer on the Warriors' next possession after a timeout to recognize her accomplishment.

Senior forward Monika Fogelsanger scored the next five points for the Warriors, and a layup by sophomore guard Mel Villano cut the deficit to 66-63 with 7:01 to play.

Sophomore guard DeAnna Rayam, who scored a career-high 17 points, hit a three-pointer to bring ESU within two with 4:24 to go. The Warriors tied the game for the first time since it was 4-4 on a jumper by sophomore guard Jhazmin Brown a minute later, and finally captured the lead on another three by Rayam with 2:26 left.

A layup and two free throws by Jessica Foran gave the Greyhounds a 79-78 advantage with just over a minute to go before Villano buried a jumper with 47 seconds left. Kelly Smith split a pair of free throws for Moravian with 25 seconds to play to send the game to overtime.

Yandrisevits scored six points in the extra session, and the third three-pointer of the game by Rayam was the dagger with 1:20 left to put ESU ahead 91-84. Yandrisevits finished the scoring with two free throws with 14 seconds left.

Yandrisevits was 13-of-17 from the field, 2-of-3 from the three-point line and 7-of-9 at the foul line to record the ninth 35+ point game in ESU history.

She also had eight rebounds, four assists and four steals and a career-high five blocked shots while playing a game-high 40 minutes. She sat for two minutes in the first half, and was on the bench for three minutes after scoring her 1,000th career point before returning for good with 4:52 left in regulation.

Yandrisevits is the fifth ESU player to score 1,000 points as a junior, joining school record-holder Claudine Simard (1,733), Stacy Perryman (1,695), Tonia Lloyd (1,675) and Lori Pio (1,527).

She had scored at least 24 points in a game only twice in her career, with a career-high 33 last year at Mansfield and 28 on Dec. 19 vs. Slippery Rock. The performance marked her 54th career game (out of 69) in double figures, and the 13th with at least 20 points.

Jessica Foran led five Moravian players in double figures with 22 points, and Kirsty Stearns added 19 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Emily Smith from East Stroudsburg South had nine points and six steals for the Greyhounds.

ESU will return to action on Saturday with its final PSAC crossover game of the season at California. The Warriors will open PSAC East play at Koehler Fieldhouse next Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Cheyney.
