EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore Lindsay Foder and junior Jessica Oliva scored goals in the final two minutes of the first half and East Stroudsburg University posted its second straight shutout in PSAC East women's soccer action with a 3-0 win over Mansfield on Wednesday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
Senior forward Lynda Hicks scored her ninth goal of the season through ESU's first 10 games when she knocked home a rebound on a shot by sophomore Kailyn Buckley with exactly 10:00 left in the first half.
Foder converted on a play set up by freshman Bryana Snyder with 1:39 remaining in the half, and Oliva found the goal 56 seconds later on a corner kick taken by freshman Megan Keiser.
ESU (4-4-2, 2-3-1) held a 21-5 advantage in shots and senior Janine Turcio was credited with one save for her fourth shutout of the season. Justine Segear made nine saves for Mansfield (4-6, 1-5).
The Warriors host Slippery Rock on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. in a PSAC crossover match. ESU encourages all fans to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness as part of the "Think Pink" initiative during Homecoming Weekend, and the women's soccer team will wear pink warm-up shirts prior to the game.
