PHILADELPHIA - Senior Janel Cleffi and sophomore Lindsay Foder both had a goal and an assist to lead the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team to its fourth straight win with a 4-1 victory at Holy Family on Monday.
Seniors Lynda Hicks and Dena Shleifer also scored for the Warriors (7-4-2), who led 2-1 at halftime and added two goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half. Senior Janine Turcio played the first 74 minutes in goal before being relieved by junior Michelle Ginn.
Foder assisted on Cleffi's goal in the 16th minute and Hicks scored her 11th goal of the season in the 31st minute. Hicks came off the bench for the first time this year and has the game-winning goal in six of the Warriors' seven victories.
Kelsey Marvill found the net for Holy Family two minutes later to cut the lead in half, but Foder (from Cleffi) and Shleifer extended the margin in the second half. Foder has five goals this season and has scored in four straight games, and Shleifer's goal was her first of the season and 12th of her career.
ESU returns to PSAC East play on Friday night with a men's/women's doubleheader against Kutztown.
