Field Hockey Falls 6-0 at Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG - East Stroudsburg University's field hockey team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end with a 6-0 loss at Shippensburg on Thursday.

Kristina Taylor and Laura Wylde both scored two goals, one in each half, for the Raiders (10-2).

Kim Davies assisted on goals by Taylor and Wylde midway through the opening period and Natalie Faith found the cage 1:45 before halftime to give Shippensburg a 3-0 lead.

Taylor scored again 4:01 into the second half and Wylde picked up her second goal four minutes later. Kristen Brooks finished the scoring with just over seven minutes left to play.

Amanda Houser made three saves on four ESU shots to record the shutout. Senior Carolyn Kisling and freshman Maureen Ordnung both played a half in goal for the Warriors.

ESU hosts Kutztown in PSAC East action on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Whitenight Field. The Warriors will wear pink jerseys and socks as part of the "Think Pink" initiative to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research through the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
