Box Score

EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore Alyson Stark and senior Caitlin Kuhn combined for 21 kills and a .571 hitting percentage to lead East Stroudsburg University to a three-set win over Bowie State on the opening night of the Warriors' final home women's volleyball tournament of the season on Friday.

Stark (12 kills) and Kuhn (nine kills) helped the Warriors hit .262 as a team, among their best percentages of the season, and sophomore Brianne Bachman added seven kills.

The Warriors raised more than $2,300 in their "Dig for the Cure" match, joining more than 300 women's volleyball teams across the country that have helped raise nearly $60,000 in contributions to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research and awareness.

ESU had 43 digs in the match, led by 15 from senior libero Kim Dormer and eight from Bachman, to add almost $200 to the total already raised by the team over the past month. ESU presented a separate check for $1,000 to the Komen Foundation at halftime of last weekend's football game at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

The team wore pink t-shirts during warm-ups and decorated Koehler Fieldhouse with pink and white balloons prior to the game, and had a table sponsored by The Pink Ribbon Boutique of East Stroudsburg.

ESU takes on Adelphi at 10 a.m. and UMass-Lowell at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.
