ESU Cross Country Takes on National Field at Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK - Freshman Doug Jankowski was 27th to lead the Warriors men to eighth place and junior Niki Pasquarella was 30th for the women as the East Stroudsburg University cross country program competed against a national field at Slippery Rock on Saturday.

Both fields had well over 200 runners and all five of ESU's top finishers on the men's side were in the top 50. A total of 237 runners and 22 teams competed in the men's division, while 29 teams and 292 runners entered on the women's side.

Freshman Greg Laraia (26:46) was just behind Jankowski's time of 26:40 to finish 34th. Junior Ryan Doyle was 38th, junior Kyle Weir was 41st and sophomore Chris Zadroga was 48th.

Pasquarella came in with a time of 23:36 over the 6k course. Junior Rachel Ostroski and sophomore Amy Moratz were also in the top 100 for the Warriors.
