Box Score

MANSFIELD - Senior forward Lynda Hicks and sophomore midfielder Lindsay Foder, East Stroudsburg University's top two goal scorers, provided the offense to send the Warriors into the PSAC women's soccer playoffs with the No. 3 seed in the eastern division following a 2-0 win at Mansfield on Saturday.

Both goals came before the midpoint of the first half, as Hicks scored unassisted 14:04 into the game and Foder converted on a cross from freshman midfielder Megan Keiser nine minutes later.

Senior goalkeeper Janine Turcio made seven saves for her seventh shutout of the season. She has 12 shutouts over the last two years, moving into second in school history behind Stacy Lizenbold (27, 1995-98).

Hicks scored her 15th goal of the year and tied Jenn Russo, a member of the 1994 PSAC championship team that was inducted into the ESU Athletic Hall of Fame earlier this fall, for fourth in ESU's record book with 35 career goals.

Foder is second on the team with seven goals and is tied for the Warriors' lead with five assists this season.

The Warriors (10-5-3) travel to Bloomsburg to play the Huskies, the No. 2 seed, on Tuesday in a rematch of last year's PSAC quarterfinal match-up that ESU won 1-0.

ESU and Kutztown are tied for third in the PSAC East standings with identical 6-4-2 records, but the Warriors earned a win and a tie in the two regular season meetings between the schools. West Chester is the top seed in the East, and Gannon is the top team in the West.
