Mel Villano both set career-highs in assists as East Stroudsburg University won its home opener 66-50 over Felician on Monday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Yandrisevits also had nine rebounds and four blocked shots while shooting 8-of-12 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line for her second 20-point game this season. Grimes hit her career-high for the second time in three games, and Cahill (eight assists) and Villano (six) helped the Warriors (3-2) record assists on 20 of their 24 buckets as they shot 49 percent (24-of-49) from the field.
Phylicia Daniels scored 12 points, Janelle Biamonte had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Crystal Reed had seven points and 16 boards for Felician (0-4). The Golden Falcons outrebounded ESU 49-32, including 30 offensive boards, but shot just 26.5 percent (18-of-68) from the floor.
Yandrisevits scored 10 of the Warriors' first 14 points of the second half to extend a 31-22 advantage to 45-30 at the 15:30 mark. The lead was extended to 21 points less than three minutes later during an 8-0 run, and ESU maintained a comfortable margin the rest of the way.
Grimes and Yandrisevits both had eight points in the first half and sophomore guard Kristen Murray scored six points in a 10-0 spurt that broke the game open and gave the Warriors a 20-8 lead. Two free throws and a jumper by Yandrisevits gave ESU its largest lead of the opening period at 28-15.
The Warriors won for the third time in five days and are off until next weekend's 44th Annual ESU Basketball Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6, at Koehler Fieldhouse.
